Brooke and Troy

Wanted to share some spring photos that Tara Marie Photography was nice enough to share with us. Brooke and Troy were married on May 5th, 2012 at Desert Plantation. They used local vendors (which we love!) such as Heirloom Cuisine catering and The Party Assist (Bev Walker). The food was delicious and the flowers gorgeous. Congrats to Brooke and Troy and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day! We hope you all enjoy these photos as much as we did.

Libby and Rudy Martinez, February

This past February, we had the pleasure of hosting another beautiful wedding. Libby and Rudy were married on  February 18th and even though the weather was a little challenging, it didn't stop anyone from having a great time! They were married under the tent, lined with white wooden chairs on the sides of the isle. Rose petals lined the brides path, along with smiling friends and family. There were heartfelt speeches, a champagne toast and hot food from Heirloom Cusine. Even a little break dancing from the groom. That's a sight we don't see everyday :) Here's a few photos from their big day. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did...

Congrats Libby and Rudy Martinez, from all of us here at Desert Plantation.

The refurbishment of Desertplantation.com in St. Francisville, La and an update on the up and coming Tasters Tea and Bridal Show

Good news folks! Desertplantation.com is now up and running smoothly on the good ole' world wide web... With a new and improved face I might add. I hope that all of you reading this will take minute to give it look and let us know what you think! Suggestions are welcome, as always.
We're very optimistic of the results to come from the freshly revamped desertplantation.com and quite honestly, it is something that we should have done years ago. Though the process was seemingly interminable at times, it was definitely money well spent and worth every single effort. We've never, in my opinion, had a website that really did Desert justice but I think this time, the message that we want to convey to you comes across much more clearly. Desert Plantation is a family oriented business with the bride and her family in mind. And when a bride books her wedding at Desert Plantation she becomes part of our family as well. We pride ourselves on being able to give you the wedding you've always dreamed about, just as you have envisioned it. So for those of you in the market for a wedding venue, come visit us at Desert Plantation and give us the chance to make all of your wedding dreams come true!
Also, for those of you attending or thinking of attending our Tasters Tea and Bridal Show on February 27th from 2pm-5pm, we want to remind you that we will be offering a discount to those who book on the spot. Some of our vendors will be offering discounts as well for those who book that day. So if you are considering using Desert Plantation as your wedding venue and planning to use our vendors as well, this could easily save you several hundred dollars. And unlike several other local and regional bridal shows and open houses, we charge no fee for attending ours! Thanks for reading and we hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

To RSVP for the open house, please contact Caryn Roland with Heirloom Cuisine.

On a separate note, Desert Plantation Weddings and B&B, is undergoing a major overhaul in the advertising department. From our website, to our facebook page, to the very blog your reading, you're going to see some major changes (hopefully!) over the next few weeks/possibly months. In the past, we've almost solely relied on you, our customers for word of mouth advertising and have never really attempted to utilize all of the resources that are available to businesses on the internet but with a new year comes new things! So after many painstaking hours of researching, reading and scouring various websites about internet marketing and SEO, etc., we're going to give it a go! So hopefully, you will like what you see in the upcoming weeks. Suggestions on what we're doing, should be doing, or shouldn't be doing are always appreciated. And thank you to all of our customers for allowing us to continue doing what we do, we hope to continue to serve you for many years to come!
And happy belated new year to everyone!
